Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of readisteadi.com and any work you commission from READI/STEADI (“READI/STEADI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a small film studio based in Jackson, New Jersey. Specific project terms — pricing, deliverables, schedule — will be set out in a separate written agreement or invoice for each engagement.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using this site or hiring us to produce a film, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or engage our services.

2. Inquiries & Bookings

Submitting a contact form is not a booking confirmation.
Your project is considered booked once you sign the project agreement and pay the retainer.
Dates are held on a first-come, first-served basis until confirmed.

3. Retainers, Payment & Refunds

A non-refundable retainer is required to secure your date.
The remaining balance is due no later than the day of the shoot, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
If you cancel, the retainer is forfeit; balance payments already received may be refunded at our discretion based on costs already incurred.

4. Rescheduling

We’ll do our best to accommodate one date change if our schedule allows.
A new date is subject to availability and may require an additional fee.

5. What We Deliver

The specific deliverables (highlight film length, number of revisions, file formats, delivery date) will be listed in your project agreement.
We deliver final files via cloud download. Files are kept available for at least 90 days after delivery.
Raw footage is not included unless specifically purchased as an add-on.

6. Creative Approach & Edits

You hire READI/STEADI for our creative judgment. We’ll discuss tone and direction up front.
Each project includes one round of revisions on the highlight film unless otherwise noted.
Additional revision rounds are billed hourly at our then-current rate.

7. Music & Licensing

All music in delivered films is properly licensed for the intended use.
If you have a song in mind, we’ll do our best to license it — some songs are not available for commercial use, in which case we’ll suggest alternatives.

8. Portfolio & Likeness

Unless you request otherwise in writing, we may use selected clips and stills from your project in our portfolio, social channels, and marketing.
If you’d like your project to remain private, please tell us before delivery.

9. Copyright & Ownership

READI/STEADI retains copyright of all raw and edited footage.
You receive a perpetual, royalty-free license to use the delivered films for personal, family, or internal-marketing purposes.
Resale of the delivered films is not permitted without written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

Our liability for any claim arising from our work is limited to the fees you paid us for the affected project.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
In the unlikely event of equipment failure or other circumstances beyond our control that prevent capture of the intended footage, our liability is limited to refunding amounts paid.

11. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform due to events beyond our reasonable control — including but not limited to severe weather, illness, government restrictions, or natural disasters. If such an event occurs we’ll work with you in good faith to reschedule or refund.

12. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Ocean County, New Jersey, or by binding arbitration where required by law.
